I Was Going to Describe My Disappointing November but it Turned Into the Story of My Stolen Phone - by Fall Out Boy
On the day of Halloween, I foolishly had my phone stolen and I feel like it was mostly my fault, even though the scumbag was taking advantage of my kindness. I was mostly distressed because I had a wedding to go to that evening, and contacting my friend would be difficult but it worked out easier than I thought. I borrowed my mom's personal phone (she had her work iPhone) for the evening. I ended up re-activating an older phone of mine.
I had lent a man my phone at the bus stop. He promptly made 2 calls and made a run for it. I was stunned for like 2 seconds (that's a long time) before instinct took over and I found myself running after him. It was no use, I was too slow, and it didn't help that I was already winded from my morning work out. (Even at full energy, I still would have been slow, I'm just trying to make myself feel better.) You would not believe the efforts I went through to try and get my phone back for the following weeks.
I asked around a bit, ended up meeting a person who witnessed it happen. They gave me a lot of helpful information but unfortunately I wasn't able to make much use of it. I was still incredibly grateful.
I ended up seeing the dude the next day outside of McDonald's! I didn't realize it as he was wearing a different set of clothes at the time. D'oh. What caught my attention was that as I walking through the door towards inside, he turned his face away from me as he was talking to this woman.
I found him again at McDonald's, tried calling the non emergency number for assistance but they wanted me to confront him myself while they wait a block away or something like that. I think he saw me and bolted because as I was on the phone I couldn't see him again. So that was futile.
A week or so later, I ended up confronting him myself before work. It was either a Friday or Saturday. I don't recall. I was so scared I was shaking, lmao. I caught him as he was buying food. I couldn't really stay that long and he ended up saying that he would return my phone and that I could go with him to retrieve it. I retorted "I'm not going anywhere with you" as I was alone at the time. We then tried to set the terms of the return of my phone. I walked into work early enough to let the tears of overwhelmedness (how the heck do I word that?) flow before my shift started. The nerves were all worked up. Also, that was a scary confrontation. Don't do this at home, kids. I was going off the description from that helpful person that he wasn't dangerous, just stupid.
Needless to say, he didn't keep his word. I half gave up and avoided the areas I would find him in. But it doesn't end there.
I had another confrontation while with a friend, again at the McDonald's. The thief came up to me saying that he was still trying to get the phone, and gave some weird excuse for blowing me off previously. He needed 20 dollars and as soon as he had the money he would buy back the phone from the dude he pawned it to. (I don't actually know if he panwed it to him, I'm assuming here.) I didn't give him 20 dollars, but I wanted to.
What I DID do though is say is I would literally pay him for the phone in our final confrontation. I saw him by chance while walking to work. I left this bit of info out while recounting the story to friends. Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, it still wasn't enough incentive because I haven't seen him since. Not that he disappeared, I just stopped looking. I also stopped going to the gym for a couple weeks but that's another story.
I had been meaning to write this out for awhile now, I don't know, man. It's a bit exhausting to think about and not every detail is even in this story, but right now it's the equivalent to my late night even though it is now 7 in the morning.
It's been over a month since the incident, and it looks like I'm just going to get a new phone soon. I had it insured, but that's still $200 dollars lost. I'm mostly positive about the situation. It's only a phone, no one was hurt. Physically. Material objects are just material objects. I learned my lesson but I don't see that as a good thing. "Don't trust strangers" shouldn't be a lesson, but unfortunately...
I don't even hate the dude. Like, I can feel for him and his situation. I could understand the desperate measures for desperate times. What sucks is how broken my trust is now. I'm never going to lend my phone to a stranger again. I've helped people immensely before! This one dude came in to work one time looking roughed up from being mugged! With my phone he was able to contact his girlfriend who venmo'd me money so I could give him cash. It felt good knowing I could help at least a little in a situation like that, y'know? I mean, I'd still give 50 cents for someone to use a pay phone or something, but outright giving my expensive belonging to someone else to borrow is just not happening anymore.
Freakin' Marbach, man.

Quiet Time
I've been antsy all gosh darn evening. It's the weekend before Halloween and I feel like I should be out doing something fun. All I did was go to the gym and shop. Now I'm sipping margarita mix (which I bought months ago) with half a shot of tequila. Just to spice my night up a little! I don't even drink alcohol regularly or anything. It does nothing for me.
Anyway, since it's been nearly a month, I wanted to update from my last blog post. I've been doing the routine that the Planet Fitness trainer gave me for a few weeks now. Still haven't lost much weight, but still seeing progress through numbers. And I don't know if it's a placebo effect but some of my pants feel more loose than usual. I might be replacing fat with muscle which may explain the lack of weight loss.
Things done this week: Sea World, played Dragon Age with Luke, painted a pumpkin for work, voted at the library, Pokémon Go Community Day: Beldum.
Most of that was mainly last weekend but whatevs. This weekend was more chill? Even though I wanted to go to the Corn Maze.
I've managed to stay away from naps for the past week but I'm still not able to sleep at night so that's frustrating. But I'm real tired as we speak so I should probably go.

"New month, new you"

| It's all gone... |
I don't remember what I did Tuesday... I slept in and worked out in the evening.I did a "build your own program" thing with a trainer. I'm doing a follow up session with him later at noon. I liked his cardio suggestion, it gets me sweating with not as much effort as the stair master, but has the same motions as the stair master. If I keep doing this for 2 more months and I'm still not seeing weight loss I'm going to be a little upset. I know I don't eat the best but like... c'mon. I only have a milkshake like once a month and other than that I stay away from sugar. I only drink water!! What gives? I digress.
I caught Mew, Mightyena, and Suicune on Pokémon Go, all new on my pokedex. I'm so close to level 30, I can taste it. Mew was a straight pain in the butt to catch. AR mode, moves around a lot, is invisible. I happened to be at my workplace but on an off today so I looked like a weirdo turning around in my seat 'cause it kept moving off screen!
Today... or rather yesterday (Wednesday)((I'm writing at 2 a.m.)), I worked out at 11ish, without Lorraine. Went home to shower real quick and go back out to get a hair cut. Met with Lorraine after, we went to Jim's. I took a nap which I shouldn't have done but I was tired from waking up at 7 and not being able to go back to sleep. (Why can't that ever happen to me when I have to work??) Later went to dinner with the family at 54th Street. I've been dying to get the Rattlesnake pasta and I finally did it.

Chikoritas Everywhere
I'm covering overnight for tonight and Tuesday night so I have to flip my schedule once again. The past week I've been waking up at 7 am!! Now I need to stay up until 7 am. Last night and right now I'm trying to stay up late so I can feel adequately awake for overnight. I think I'm feeling a second wind incoming so maybe staying up until 7. It's nearly 5 right now.
Anyway! I didn't come here to talk about my sleep schedule, or lack thereof. I had a real eventful weekend despite having to work. Pokémon Go Community Day was this past Saturday. Luke picked me up at 9 in the morning so we can go to brunch before hand, both of us thinking the event started at 11.
Minor setback, it actually started at 1. And plus, it was hardly a setback. We still played around the area until it started. We ate at the Guenther House, which seemed packed. Well priced for a place that was supposed to be fancy. I chose the chicken enchiladas and they tasted wonderful.
We roamed around the area (Southtown? Arsenal?), which was about a 20 minute walk from the main downtown area, the Alamo and such. We followed the San Antonio river north, making our way to a Starbucks to charge our phones. Pokémon Go sure does drink up the phone juice. It was 1:30 pm by the time we had settled and made the mistake of purchasing venti drinks. I had the mocha frappe and drank all of it. We sat there and caught a dozen Chikoritas. Thinking about it, I'm surprised we were the only ones in that Starbucks taking advantage of that location for Community Day. Well, we had originally planned to be walking around but we needed to charge our phones. And Luke's charger barely worked, so I let him borrow mine for a bit.
We left and I made it home in time to shower for work. That evening was super slow, especially for a Saturday. I really didn't mind until 930 rolled around, and everyone freakin' decides that they want to eat at my workplace. I'm annoyed because it's only half an hour away before I get to go home, but no, J.K.
Sunday night was busier, but not that busy. After work, Monique drove us around to play Pokémon and we both finally got enough Magikarp candy for Gyarados!! I was incredibly happy. If you're familiar with the game, you know it takes 400 (a buttload) and that it's relatively difficult to come across Magikarp if you're not around water. Honestly, it seemed impossible at the time the game came out. Well, 2 years later and I have a Gyarados, baby. His name is Koiboi.
Okay, I'm tired and the last half of my post is extremely summarized. I haven't been to the gym in a couple days but the next time I'm going for sure is Tuesday morning after my graveyard shift. Ugh, wish me luck.

Tired(tm)
Okay, I'm going to write this before I procrastinate too long and it's time for bed. This is just a daily log or whatever.
I've had a busy past few days that have required me to wake up at 7 a.m., while also working in the evening. I cannot keep this up, honestly, so I it is crucial I work something out.
My friend can only really go to the gym in the morning so that's why I've been joining her but I'm going to have to do solo sessions. I get off of work at minimum, 11 p.m. Waking up at 7 is difficult but I've been taking sleep medicine to help me out.
I don't remember what I did Wednesday after the gym besides grabbing Tealicious with Lorraine. (It was delicious, by the way.) I think I took a nap, which I wasn't supposed to do, much like today. It means that I'll be taking my sleep medicine, but I try to avoid it the best I can so my body doesn't get used to it. It's been a tough but rewarding week.
Today, I went mask shopping with my friend Nic for his cousin's wedding in a month. It took all of 5 minutes which surprised me. I guess because I decided right then and there what I'm going to wear, I chose a mask to match it. Of course I had to pick the most expensive one there because even I can be Extra. It only cost 40 dollars but the simpler masks were in the 25 range. Afterwards, he treated me to Red Robin. He ate a whole slice of mud pie by himself and I was mildly impressed.
I tried to get both hin and Lorraine into Pokémon Go but they are definitely not interested. The only person I've managed to sucker in is Monique. I have had some influence on Luke but eh, his interest seemed more on a whim rather than my pestering.

I Was Going to Describe My Disappointing November but it Turned Into the Story of My Stolen Phone - by Fall Out Boy
Hello again. I wish I felt like writing more and I don't care enough to discipline myself to do it often. Anyway, let's jump in. On...
